Get ready for the fishing trip of a lifetime in the untamed waters of the Chandeleur Islands. This 3-day adventure is all about chasing monster speckled trout and redfish in one of the Gulf's most pristine fishing grounds. We're talking about wading in crystal-clear shallows, sight-casting to tailing reds, and hooking into trout so big they'll make your arms ache. If you're looking to get away from it all and focus on nothing but world-class inshore fishing, this is your ticket.
Launching out of Biloxi, MS, we'll head straight for the Chandeleur Islands – a remote chain of barrier islands that's a fish-filled paradise. You'll be staying on our 63' mothership, a floating luxury hotel that puts you right in the heart of the action. Each morning, we'll load up into 17' skiffs and hit the flats, grass beds, and channels where the big ones lurk. Wade fishing is the name of the game here, so pack your waders and get ready to feel the sand between your toes as you stalk trophy trout and reds.
This ain't your average day trip, folks. We're talking three full days of non-stop fishing action. Our skiffs will take you to the honey holes where we'll be wading and sight-casting. You'll be throwing topwaters at dawn, working soft plastics along grass lines, and maybe even fly fishing if that's your thing. The beauty of the Chandeleurs is the variety – one minute you're sight-casting to a school of reds, the next you're working a deep channel for gator trout. And don't worry if you're new to wade fishing – our guides will show you the ropes and put you on fish.
It's not just the fishing that makes this trip special (though that'd be enough). After a long day on the water, you'll head back to our mothership for some serious R&R. We're talking air conditioning, comfy beds, hot showers, and gourmet meals that'll make you forget you're 30 miles offshore. Kick back with a cold one, swap fish stories, and get ready to do it all again tomorrow. With WiFi and Smart TVs on board, you can even stay connected (but trust me, you won't want to).
Speckled Trout: The crown jewel of Chandeleur fishing. These silver-spotted beauties grow big out here – we're talking 5+ pounders on the regular. They love to hang around grass beds and drop-offs, smashing topwaters and soft plastics. Spring and fall are prime time, but you can catch them year-round. There's nothing like the feeling of a big speck crushing a topwater at first light.
Redfish: The bulldogs of the flats. Chandeleur reds are known for their size and their willingness to eat just about anything you throw at them. We target them in super-shallow water, often sight-casting to fish you can see tailing or cruising. They'll test your drag and your arm strength, especially the big bulls that show up in the fall. Watching a red track down your lure in gin-clear water is an experience you won't forget.
Look, I've been guiding these waters for years, and I can tell you – this Chandeleur Islands trip is as good as it gets for serious inshore anglers. Whether you're after your personal best speckled trout or just want to experience some of the best wade fishing the Gulf has to offer, this is the trip for you. We've got the knowledge, the gear, and the spots to make it happen. All you need to bring is your fishing tackle and a good attitude. Spots fill up fast, especially during peak seasons, so don't wait. Give us a call, and let's get you out to the Chandeleurs for the fishing adventure of a lifetime. Trust me, once you fish these islands, everywhere else will feel like a kiddie pool.
Redfish are the bulldogs of our flats. They're easy to spot with that trademark black dot near the tail, and they can grow big – 28 to 33 inches is common, but 50-pounders aren't unheard of. You'll find 'em in super shallow water, often tailing in just a foot or two. They love hanging around oyster reefs, grass beds, and mudflats. Fall's the best time when they school up to spawn. Anglers prize 'em for their powerful runs and excellent table fare. To hook one, try sight-casting with a gold spoon or a soft plastic on a jighead. Work it slowly across their path, and be ready – when they hit, it's like a freight train. If you see a group of reds churning up mud, that's your cue to cast. They're rooting for crabs and won't pass up an easy meal.

Around here, we call 'em speckled trout. These silvery fighters usually run 14 to 24 inches, but the big ones can hit 5 pounds or more. You'll find them in our grass flats and shallow waters, especially at night. They love to hit shrimp, small crabs, and baitfish. Spring and fall are prime times, when the water's just right. Anglers dig 'em for their light, flaky meat and the sporty fight they put up. If you're wade fishing, try working a plastic shrimp or jig along the edges of grass beds – that's where they like to ambush their prey. Just remember, these guys have soft mouths, so set the hook easy and keep steady pressure. Nothing beats the sound of a trout smacking a topwater lure at dawn.
